Nigeria is an example of a population pyramid in stages 1-3 as its birth rate is very high
which can be seen by the large youthful population. It’s death rate seems to also be very
high due to the lack of an elderly population. This makes it a stage 1-3 population pyramid
as the population is experience high birth and death rates.
Japan is an example of a stage 5 pyramid as its elderly population is larger than the youthful
population. This suggests that the country is well developed, and that life expectancy is high
as a result of good healthcare since many people live to an elderly age. In addition to this,
the birth rate also seems to be decreasing as there are less young people than elderly
people within the population.
