P2 – Functional Specification
Introduction
I have been asked to design a database system so that students starting a new year
such as 150001 will be assigned a new progress coach. The students also need a
unique ID Number so that they can easily login to the college system and enter there
exams. The client wants me to produce a unique database system that progress
coaches and teachers can view issues/ troubles with students and will be notified.
Furthermore teachers also need to be able to add new issues for students easily.
Lastly progress coaches need to be able to view who is in there groups and 1-1
sessions and view student issues by selecting there student ID.
Client Needs:
Be able to add new students to the database
Generate a sequential 10 Number for students that starts with the year they
started (15) then 4 digits starting with 0001 (e.g. 150001)
Teachers need to be able to add new issues for students when they arise.
Progress Coaches need to be able to view their groups
Progress Coaches Need to be able to select a student and view their issues.
Progress Coaches need to be able to view who are in the 1-1 sessions.
