(DISTINCTION)*This is the first instalment of the 'Unit 8 Recruitment and Selection series', The organisation that I have chosen to relate this essay to is Tesco PLC. In this Essay, we firstly cover the history of Tesco, as well as its size and statistics in recent years. we then look at the recruitment and selection process into great detail, answering questions such as "why do we recruit", "what are job vacancies?", "What are the different stages of the recruitment and selection process?" and "what are job descriptions and personal specifications and how are they used?". We then move onto Tesco's ethical and legal regulations and laws/ rules that have been put in place for them to abide by such as the 'Equality Act of 2010'. Additionally, The definitions of jobs centres, recruitment agencies, internal and external recruitment are also included. Moreover, we see a specific diagram of each step in Tesco's selection process. The remaining aspects that are covered in this essay are the evaluation of how useful the recruitment and selection process has been for the success of Tesco, including personal reviews from consumers, as well as former and existing employees of Tesco.
