LTM: Procedural, Semantic and Episodic Memory
STM: System for storing information for a short period of time before information transformed to LTM.
Atkinson and Shiffrin (1968) - argue STM is just a temporary storage depot for incoming information.
Baddeley (1986)- thinks it is part of the ‘working memory’ and plays an active role
