For this paper you must have:
• Source booklet and answer book.
Instructions
• Use black ink or black ball-point pen.
• Fill in the boxes at the foot of this page.
• Answer all questions in Section A, all questions in Section B and all questions in Section C.
• You must answer the questions in the spaces provided. Do not write outside the box around each
page or on blank pages.
• Do all rough work in this book. Cross through any work you do not want to be marked. If you need
extra paper, use the Additional Answer Sheets.
Information
• The marks for each question are shown in brackets.
• The maximum mark for this paper is 150.
• You must not use a dictionary during this test.
• All answers must be written in English, with the following exceptions: roots, individual Hebrew letters,
and short quotes from the text, if the Biblical Hebrew is necessary for a complete illustration of the
answer. Answers in Biblical Hebrew must be written using the ‘block’ system.
• A high level of accuracy in written English is required at this level, and accurate spelling and punctua-
tion are important. Transliteration of Biblical Hebrew words is only acceptable for proper nouns – all
other words must be translated into English.
• This paper is divided into three sections:
Section A Unseen prose translation, comprehension and pointing 50 marks
Section B Unseen poetry translation and comprehension 50 marks
Section C Composition 50 marks
Please write clearly, in block capitals, to allow character computer recognition.
