The 3rd amendment was a result of british invasion on US
territory

May 1787 consitutional convention - new national constitution
- gained support, however had to be approved by conventions
among the states.

Federalist papers - written by Hamilton, Madison and Jay to
support new consitution

States wanted additional Declaration of Rights, which opposed
to ideas of Madison.
