Within a health and social care settings there are many incidents and emergencies that could occur.
An incident within a day care centre could be if a service user refuses to eat their food and gets very
aggressive towards the carer by shouting and threating to throw objects at others in the lounge area.
To prevent this incident from escalating where others could suffer from physical harm there needs
to be appropriate responses in place. My initial response to this would be to remove all the present
service users from the lounge area, so the service user does not lash out towards them and cause
harm to them. My next response would be to call in two trained carers to intervene with this
incident, but I would advise them to keep at a safe distance of the service user for two reasons. For
the first reason the service user could possibly lash out and hurt the carers. The second reason is
that the service user could get very anxious and feel intimated with large amount of people trying to
interact with them all at the same time. This is why it is important……
