The focus will be on poverty. Why poverty? Interesting and well researched area.
Understanding poverty from a range of different ways
To continue exploring methods of research
Ethics
Developing your argumentation skills – how to make a strong case/argument.

To work out what the foundations of a problem are
Semester 2 Assessment
Two assessments to complete for single honours students
Report on Poverty in the UK – people’s attitudes, structural inequality, the
representation of it in the media; encourage people to report on poverty in a way
that you think is right to talk about.
Literature Review – we will talk about this in week 3. You will be asked to read
two academic articles on poverty. You will be given a list of articles to choose
from. You are to pull two key themes from the articles.
You can go 10% over the word count
The due date is the same for all students

Poverty is pervasive – it’s everywhere and we can’t get rid of it.
To explore the wider emotional issues
