Understanding discipline in the uniformed public services

In this assessment I will be discussing the requirement and function of
discipline in the uniformed public services. I will then at that point proceed to
explain how discipline plays an important role in various public services backed
up by a case study.

The need for discipline in the uniformed public services is huge. It helps keep
everything and everyone in order, when things are not done how they should
be it creates unnecessary scenarios that, if avoided, would make the system a
lot smoother.
It is utilized to keep up an arrangement of request, solidarity, and respect.
Also, discipline is used in the public services to help them understand the best
way to interact with the public and how to keep/maintain safe and
comfortable surroundings despite getting their job done. They must learn that
although the public is looking up to them, they should not take advantage of
their power, this is the same in every public service. As an example, the police
use ranks, these ranks are sectioned by roles and power, by respecting your
rights and being disciplined you move up a rank where the same rules apply
although you will receive more benefits such as a pay rise, less hours or even a
