Code of Honour

To maintain a trustworthy platform for everyone, we've established a clear Code of Honour. This guide outlines what you can and cannot do with study materials purchased or sold on Stuvia.

Code of Honour

Quality is our top priority, and integrity is a big part of that. We expect all Stuvia users to use our platform for its intended purposes and to respect each other's work. That's why we've created this clear Code of Honour.

✅ What you can do:

  • Use study materials on Stuvia to study more efficiently, better understand course content, and develop stronger assignments
  • Upload only high-quality study materials that you've created yourself
  • Use study materials as study support when this is allowed by your university or college
  • Follow your institution's code of conduct while using our platform

❌ This is not allowed:

  • Copying study materials from Stuvia and submitting them as your own work. This is plagiarism and is often severely penalised by educational institutions, possibly even with expulsion.
  • Uploading material that you don't own the copyright to, such as scanned textbooks, answer keys, or someone else's summaries. Sharing someone else's work without permission violates copyright law.
  • Using Stuvia when your university or college explicitly prohibits the use of external sources. We want to be a reliable partner in education, not a means to circumvent rules.
  • Acting against your educational institution's code of conduct or integrity policy. Always respect your university's rules about academic integrity and honest study behaviour.

Note: violation of these rules can lead to removal of your account and in some cases to measures taken by your educational institution.

By following these guidelines, we keep Stuvia fair, reliable, and valuable for all students!
