Reason for Encounter: Eye problem
Location: Outpatient clinic with laboratory capabilities
The patient is a 20-year-old male who presents with a 2-day history of redness
and discharge in the right eye. Symptoms began gradually and have
progressively worsened. The patient reports thick yellow-green discharge
causing eyelids to stick together upon waking. He describes mild eye discomfort
and foreign body sensation but denies severe pain or vision loss. No
photophobia is reported. The patient notes recent close contact with a friend
who had a similar eye infection. No history of trauma, contact lens use, or
chemical exposure.
