Source A and Source B refer to
the resignation of former UK Prime
Minister Boris Johnson as an MP after
several scandals, including a report
that found he had lied to Parliament.
Rishi Sunak became Prime Minister
after Johnson. Some members of the
Conservative Party blamed Sunak for
Johnson’s resignation.
On the same day as Johnson’s
resignation, the Government released
an ‘honours list’ of people Johnson
had rewarded for supporting him.
Some people felt he should not have
been allowed to do this.
One comment refers to an OBE,
which is a type of award given to
people on the honours list. Another
comment refers to (Richard) Nixon
who was US President in the 1970s
and resigned because of a scandal.
Twitter is the former name of the
social media platform X.
