medical assistance. The nursing curriculum is developed to ensure that the future nurses acquire
appropriate skills as well as knowledge necessary for navigating through a dynamic field.
But within this rapidly changing environment, nursing teachers are fundamental in the
creation of a new generation that will help provide health care services. They use different
methods of teaching and refer to many theories so that learners are adequately equipped with the
fundamental skills needed in their pursuits. The instructors handling these challenges in the
classroom surpass theoretical knowledge; instead, they give students a practical understanding of
all diverse nursing tasks that nurses perform while supporting both staff and patients within
hospitals.

The ongoing debate on the persistent shortage of nurse faculty across the nation has lit a
fire in many practicing nurses paving their way into being teachers. While the reasons for nurse
shortage are numerous, according to workforce analysts, a diminishing pool of nursing faculty
has been identified as chief factor deepening and extending the crisis in United States (Murphy et
al., 2022). This highlights the need to resolve this shortage by increasing both quantity and
quality of nurses as well nurse instructors. Just like any profession, there are those days in
nursing school where nurses stay up all night practicing care plans and worrying on what their
first patients will be. There is also a possibility of transitioning from practicing nurse to being an
instructor, and such thoughts can easily induce anxiety among those who are concerned about
their ability in guiding and educating future nursing professionals.
When acting as a nursing instructor, the learning environment becomes very important.
The environment selected greatly affects what type of nurse students will be. Higher education
studies consistently reinforce the necessity of a learning environment characterized by care,
confidence as well as an inviting ethos for overall student development. As nursing is an
inherently caring profession, nurturing a bond and providing educational opportunities that
emphasize students’ characteristics are imperative. Care is being considered as a mutual
relationship between the caregivers and receivers so, caring environment in an educational
setting is essential (Raivio et al., 2022). From a caring standpoint, the teaching-learning process
is perceived as mutual involvement where both instructor and student are engaged with each
