List five of the strategies and give a specific example of how you could use

Note-Taking = Before starting a lecture (or reading an article/book)
students will be given the structured note-taking graphic organizer. They
will then write the main topic at the top. As we go through the lecture, they
will be told what each section is, and the students are responsible for
writing down the important content within each section.
, 2. Paraphrasing = After reading an article, students will summarize what
they learned in 4-8 sentences.
3. Cornell Graphic Organizer = Before reading an article, students will be
given the title and write and think about what questions they may have.
They will then write down in the organizer the details when they are reading
it. Finally, they will right down the main idea.
4. Anticipation Guides = Students will give short answers to a series of
questions about whatever topic (example: making a wreath) before the
lesson starts.
5. PARS = I could have the students scan a chapter of the landscaping
textbook, come together as a class to ask questions, then read the chapter
together as a class, then finally summarize what we learned in the chapter.
