Inleiding

Commerciële vluchten vereisen veel operationele planning. Zo ook vlucht KL880 van Bengaluru (BLR)
naar Amsterdam (AMS). In deze opdracht worden meerdere operationele problemen besproken en
opgelost. De vlucht KL880 wordt gevlogen met een Boeing 777-300ER. Door verschillende situaties
aan de aandacht te stellen, zullen er minder onverwachte problemen ontstaan. Een voorbeeld van
een mogelijke hindernis is een holding, er moet dan goed worden bekeken hoelang KL880 kan holden
of dat ze beter door kunnen vliegen naar Rotterdam Airport. Nog een vraagstuk is of KL880 op
Optimum Flight Level vliegt, dit zal namelijk tijd en brandstof schelen. Naast mogelijke
verhinderingen, wordt er ook gekeken naar basis aspecten die bij elke vlucht van belang zijn. Zoals
hoeveel brandstof er mee wordt genomen, of op welke baan het vliegtuig kan landen. Ook wordt er
uiteraard gekeken naar hoeveel vracht er mee kan in de vlucht. Om aan de antwoorden van deze
problemen te komen, worden onder andere de FCOM van de Boeing 777 en de FPPM van de Boeing
777-300ER gebruikt. Daarnaast wordt kennis gehaald uit de lessen van meneer van Dijk, meneer
Falco en meneer Nauzadi. Aan de hand van deze bronnen wordt dan gekeken hoe vlucht KL880 zo
efficiënt en veilig mogelijk van Bangelore naar Amsterdam kan vliegen.
