Stream-enterer One who enters Srotāpanna Guaranteed enlightenment after no more than 7
rebirths, opened the eye of the dhamma, can only be
reborn as a human or in heaven. Has an intuitive grasp
of Buddhist doctrine. Does not believe in separate self,
but may still feel separate, feels negativity
Once-returner One who once Sakadāgāmī Will only be reborn as a human once more. Realising
comes non-self and trying to figure out what you are still
attached to. Concentration will strengthen, this brings
significant reduction in attachment and mental
suffering, you only feel minor inconveniences now.
Never-returner One who does Anāgāmī After death, will achieve nirvana. Partially enlightened,
not come all of the worst mental suffering completely leave,
however a hint of ‘self’ still remains, as does a trace of
dissatisfaction, rarely and excting moment, just a
moment of clarity. Makes you very content peaceful,
and without desire.
Arahat ----------------------- Parinibbāna The final life, a fully enlightened human, never to be
----------------------- reborn, any trace of ‘self’ drops away now, and the
----------------------- effects of life have no hold on you. Compared to falling
----------------------- through a cloud and disappearing. There is nothing
----------------------- further to realise, and the path is complete.
