Introduction
This documentation is about how I managed the Hot Beans Web
recruitment website project. I worked as the project manager and used
many project skills I have experience of using it to lead my team. We
planned the project, worked in sprints, built the website and gave updates
to the client regularly. I used the Agile Scrum methodology and tools like
Microsoft Project for planning, GitHub for saving the versions of our work
and Microsoft Teams for communication with the team. This project gave
me a chance to understand how to run a IT project from start to end.
Planning and Organisation
Good planning was the first step in this project. I used Microsoft Project to
make a Gantt chart. This helped me to break down the project into smaller
parts of it. I divided the work into sprints that lasted two weeks each. Each
sprint had goals, so the team always knew what to focus on. We started
with the main parts of the site like the login page, job listings and user
profiles. We also added an AI system to suggest jobs. Sprint reviews helped
us track the progress and show the client what we had done. Some tasks
like improving the mobile layout, took longer than we planned. I changed
the timeline to fix this, which helped me learn how to adjust when is
needed.
Communication and Teamwork
Talking clearly with the team helped the project run efficiently. I ran short
meetings every day on Microsoft Teams. In these meetings, everyone said
what they did yesterday, what they would do today and if they had any
problems. This helped the team stay connected and solve any issues early.
We also sent messages, shared files and gave updates during the day. The
client Marcus Steele, gave us the feedback after every sprint. We used this
feedback to fix problems quickly. I also made sure each person had clear
tasks and helped anyone who needed support. This made our team work
well together.
