Unit 17 Assignment 2

Tittle: Enchantment Under the Sea

Introduction
I work as an IT specialist at a visual arts company, part of my job is to help the company
to use technology in a better way in our projects. So recently, I was given the task of
creating a 3D stage model and a poster for the school prom called “Enchantment Under
the Sea.” This event aims to create a magical atmosphere the surrounding. My goal is to
make digital graphics that meet my manager requirements and attract the specific
audience’s attention. To do this, I will look at different sources for inspiration, including
the client brief, my own ideas and research to guide the design.

Time Management

,Sources of Stimulus

Client Brief

The client brief is the main source of inspiration for this project. It includes the
expectations and needs which are set by my manager, such as the stage size (10mW x
9mD x 7mH) and the theme of “Enchantment Under the Sea.” This brief gives all the
important details about the visual elements, like colour choices, design patterns and
specific features which needs to include in the stage and poster.

Own Brief

Along with the client brief, I will create my own brief to clarify my creative ideas and plan
for the project. This personal brief will include main ideas that match the theme, such
as magical underwater scenes, bright ocean colours and fun design elements. By
defining my goals and the target audience, I can ensure that the final graphics will
appeal to the guests and show the enchanting atmosphere meant for the prom.

Research techniques

When making graphics for the “Enchantment Under the Sea” prom, using good
research techniques is very important. Doing online research will help me to find the
inspiration of the design how is going to look like and to see what designs are popular
right now on websites and social media. Going to similar events will give me a chance to
see successful ideas in person. I can also ask students what they like by doing surveys
or interviews to learn about their preferences. Creating mood boards will helps me
show the theme and style for the design. Looking at what other events have done can
help me to find ideas to use for the design or and what mistakes to avoid. Learning
about colour theory will helps me to understand how different colours can affect
feelings, which will guide my colour choices. By using these techniques together, I can
gather useful information and inspiration, leading to designs that connect with the
target audience and capture the magical feeling of the event.

Quality characteristics: Quality is very important when making graphics for the
"Enchantment Under the Sea" prom. High-resolution images will keep the pictures
clear and sharp without making it looks blurry. It is also important that the files format
supports different devices and software. The colours should be bright and match the
theme and the design pixel quality should still look good even when it made bigger for
posters or smaller for screens.

Processing and editing techniques: Editing will help to improve the design. Cropping
and resizing will change the image size without making it blurry. Colour correction

, makes the picture brighter and improves contrast. Adding layers will helps to create a
creative and detailed look. Effects like glow, shadows and textures can make the design
feel more magical. Using vector images will keep the edges smooth and allows resizing
without losing quality.

File and compression formats: Choosing the right file type is also important. JPEG
works well for web and printing but can lose quality when it saved many times. PNG
keeps the background clear, which is useful for posters and overlays. SVG is best for
images that need to stay sharp when resized. PSD and AI files allow for advanced
editing in Photoshop and Illustrator. PDF is great for printing and easy sharing. By
focusing on good quality, using editing techniques and choosing the best file type, the
final design will look great on both paper and screens.
