Tell me about yourself - answerI am a junior at Florida Atlantic University where I
participated in the honors accounting program and also participate in a business
organization where I was the president of my pledge class last year. My work
experience includes multiple customer service jobs and I am currently an intern at an
accounting firm that specializes in tax credits and incentives. From this job I've gained
experience in bookkeeping, accounting software, filing tax returns, communicating with
clients, and writing report summaries. My future goals include becoming a CPA and
becoming an experienced professional in audit and assurance.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? - answerWell, I am very excited about this
position at Deloitte because, in 5 years, I'd like to be seen as someone with deep
expertise in audit and assurance, and I know that's something that I'll have an
opportunity to do here. Also, I've been lucky enough to work with some amazing
managers, and so developing into a great manager myself is something I'm really
excited about
I would like to have developed more leadership skills and I know that I can accomplish
that at Deloitte because, at Deloitte University, they provide training to develop their
employees.
Why do you want to join Deloitte? - answerDeloitte has impressed me with its numerous
awards and recognitions including being listed on Fortune's annual "100 Best
Companies to Work For" list for the 21st time in 2020.
I am impressed by Deloitte's strong brand and that they are the number one
professional service brand in the world.
I also appreciate Deloitte's purpose which is to make an impact that matters and they do
so by innovating solutions around society's most pressing issues. For example,
Deloitte's commitment to sustainable development through the 2030 Purpose project of
net-zero emissions and their response to the COVID-19 pandemic by committing $12.5
million and providing communities in need.
Last but not least, I think Deloitte stands out from other firms because they invest in
their employees through Deloitte University where their goal is to create leaders in the
workplace. I myself try to develop myself into a leader by participating in a business
fraternity where we participate in professional networked and where I held a leadership
position as president last year.
Ask: how have Deloitte's initiatives changed in the past year?
, Why do you want to intern in audit and assurance - answerWhat I like about auditing is
that auditors ensure companies' accounts are fair and true. This is an important job
because auditors help identify and prevent fraud and injustice in the business world.
I am also interested in audit & assurance because I've been told that will aa, you get to
collaborate with your team to work on a client audit and I enjoy working in groups.
Lastly, I am interested in the technological advances related to auditing. For example,
Deloitte invests in audit technology such as Deloitte Omnia to increase the effectiveness
of audits.
I am interested in working at a firm that focuses on technology and AI because that is
the furture.

Tell me about a difficult situation to which you found a simple solution - answerWhen I
first started my current internship, i was asked to do a presentation on R&D Tax credits.
This was a difficult situation for me because I was not familiar with the topic and never
given a professional presentation before. To solve this, I did extensive research on
presentations given by other firms to get an understanding of what my boss was looking
for. In addition to that I searched the files I had access to, and accounting based
websites online to get information for the presentation. I also took the time to research
the IRC CS 41 to get familiar working with tax regulations. In the end, my boss was very
impressed with the presentation. This difficult situation taught me to solve issues
independently and the importance of research.
How competitive would you say you are? Give an example of your competitive nature? -
answerI am competitive in a way that I give my all in whatever I do. And since I am
someone that enjoys working in teams, I do not try to compete with my team members,
rather I try my best to make sure that my team as a whole is successful.
