Case Study 1: Mitigating Cloud Computing
CIS 558: Information Technology Audit and Control
Cloud Computing Summary Analysis
Cloud computing explains how users can assess data from wherever they are located if
they have Internet connection, according to M. Asif (Asif, 2018). Cloud computing allows on-
demand or pay-as-you need style of computing that include different IT resources such as

storage, networking, database, and applications. Information is stored, assessed, and accessed in
the cloud, where a physical structure is established. The applications and data can be remotely
accessed on servers from a public or private network using the Internet. Users encounter the
cloud in daily actions and are unaware that the cloud is present such as saving a document,
sending a message or email, storing information, and the list goes on.The main issue with cloud
computing is how safe will the information be using this technology? We can safeguard as much
as possible, but there will be holes in the armor and risk issues that will present itself. The
research revealed that cloud computing is viewed as a third-party storage system that must be
carefully monitored. Then there is the risk of cyber-attacks since cloud computing is accessed
using the Internet. It is vitally important to ensure the protocols are set to provide protection
against risks that are related to cloud computing. The organization should follow the standards of
the policies to reduce the risks associated with cloud computing. Cloud computing is the new age
for storing and retrieving information using the Internet and it requires we take all precautions to
keep security guards in place in case of an emergency.
Vulnerabilities of public, private, and hybrid clouds
There are various types of cloud computing that transforms how users interact with the
Internet. According to Muhamad Raza, cloud computing ranges from public, private, and hybrid
that helps simplify networking needs (Raza, 2018). Public cloud computing is a model that
delivers free or subscription-based IT services for consumption. The need for cloud computing
