Assignment 6: Analysing Global Health Data, Based on Specific Indicators and Their Implications

Brief Description

Childhood mortality is one of the most detrimental healthcare outcomes throughout the

globe. Various health organizations, including the World Health Organisation (WHO), have made

significant progress in tracking and recording the healthcare outcomes of the populations. This

includes the child mortality rate, which has been used to determine the effectively of the child

and maternal health outcomes and the country's progress in attaining its developmental goals.

The SDG target 3.2 shows that the relevant targets regarding reducing child mortality rates by

2030 are slowly being achieved (World Health Organization, 2025a). All countries aim to reduce

mortality by addressing preventable causes. These statistics reflect on the vulnerability of these

nations and the disproportionate burden of disease faced by some nations. This essay will

provide a comprehensive overview of the same, including the data collection process, processing

and analyzing of the data, visualization and presentation and highlighting the implications and

how the presented data could be used to inform the development of the global health strategies

and interventions related to child mortality.

Data Collection, Processing, And Analysis Methods

This analysis utilized data from the World Health Organization database. This database

contains crucial data on child mortality rates, presenting factual information from global sources

and research. The data was processed using the Excel platform, calculating the neonatal mortality

rates, comparing disparities in the rates and analyzing the death proportions, and project progress

trends towards attaining the SDG (World Health Organization, 2025). The data will be

interpreted, and the emerging theme will be summarized using a thematic analysis approach.
