business and entrepreneurial functions.
Why is there a trend toward cross-functional integrated enterprise
systems in business Why would systems that enhance a company’s
relationships with customers have such a high rate of failure?
Response: Cross-functional integrated enterprise systems are becoming a trend
in many businesses now a day because of the innovative benefits it offers.
Cross-functional systems decrease time by allowing transitions/ process to
move smoothly and efficiently. “Cross-functional system also allows an
organization to become cost effective by making things happen effectively and
smoothly without errors in a very systematic way.”
Systems that enhance a company’s relationships with customers have such a
high rate of failure because of various reasons. One is that managers lack proper
understanding of the system and insufficient preparation. Second, manager’s
inefficiency of not to try to solve new problem without even developing the
business process. Also stakeholders are implementing major changes without
participating in the change. Finally, there are no arrangements of training
programs for employees to adopt the change.
