Assignment 3 Semester 2 2025
Unique number:
Due Date: 3 October 2025

QUESTION 1

Explain how a corporate’s image can be effected by accidents and injuries.

A company’s corporate image is one of its most valuable intangible assets. It influences how
customers, employees, investors, and the wider public perceive the organisation. Accidents
and injuries in the workplace can have a significant negative impact on this image,
particularly in a highly competitive global environment where reputations are closely
monitored.

Firstly, frequent accidents and injuries create the impression that a company does not value
the health and safety of its employees. When workers are injured or exposed to unsafe
conditions, stakeholders begin to question whether the organisation places profits ahead of
people. This perception can erode trust, leading to difficulties in attracting and retaining
skilled employees. A company with a reputation for prioritising safety, on the other hand, is
often seen as a desirable employer, which strengthens its image (Reese, 2016).
