Receiving feedback on my assignments in 2025 was both challenging and rewarding. At
first, I felt nervous when I saw comments pointing out areas I needed to improve. But I
soon realised that the feedback was not meant to discourage me—it was meant to help me
grow. According to McMillan and Schumacher (2010), constructive feedback is essential for
learning because it shows us where we are and where we need to go. I took time to read
every comment carefully and used it to improve my next assignment. For example, when a
lecturer said my ideas were good but lacked structure, I started planning my essays better
and using clearer headings.
One thing I learned is that feedback is a gift. It helped me see my blind spots and pushed me
to think deeper. If I had another chance, I would ask for even more feedback before
submitting my work. I would also take time to reflect on each assignment—not just the
marks, but what I learned from doing it. I now understand that learning is a process, and
mistakes are part of that journey.
This experience has made me more confident and open-minded. As a teacher, I now see
how important it is to give learners kind but honest feedback. I want to create a classroom
where feedback is seen as a tool for growth, not punishment. I’ve grown not just as a
student, but also as an educator who values reflection and improvement.
• Communication: Describe your interactions with lecturers and peers in this module.
My communication with lecturers and fellow students during the ISC3701 module was one
of the highlights of my learning experience in 2025. At first, I was shy to speak up,
especially in online forums. But as the weeks went by, I realised that sharing ideas and
asking questions helped me understand the content better. According to Vygotsky’s theory
