The term “enediyne” contains the suffixes -ene and -yne. The suffix -ene is used to name alkenes, molecules with one double bond. The suffix -yne is used to name alkynes, molecules with
one triple bond. An enediyne then features one double and two triple bonds. Possible arrangements of these bonds involving 6 C atoms in a row are:

CH2 ═ CH ─ C≡C ─ C≡CHCH≡C ─ CH ═ CH ─ C≡CH
