book corner, fantasy play, construction, creative arts) that encourage exploration and
discovery (Learning Unit 2, p.15).
1.1.2 Balanced daily programme
An effective Grade R classroom follows a structured daily programme with teacher-
guided activities, routines, and child-initiated free play to support holistic development
(Learning Unit 2, p.15–16).
