Proposal Overview
Problem Summary
SACI is a medium sized company that provides services to American military
installations and units located globally. They recently acquired a government contract where they
will be providing training, and IT support for military forces on a small military base with
limited infrastructure. SACI new training facility has limited space and resources for their IT
equipment due to the remote location of the building and not being able to construct any
additional areas to the building.
It is important for SACI to follow the Federal Information Security Management Act
(FISMA) since they will be supporting military units. FISMA requires that each federal agency
to develop, document, and implement complete information security plan to protect and support
the operations of the agency. Private sectors companies that do business with federal agencies
must adhere to these same information security guidelines. With the classified material
traversing over their network and with the storage of the data for long periods it is imperative
that SACI is FISMA compliant at this new training site. (J. P. U., 2020).
In order for SACI to continue to be successful they will need a solution that will have a
low budget, so it is imperative that no additional employees are hired, and that they don’t
purchase onsite storage equipment. This technology solution will have to provide redundancy,
high availability, archiving/storage capacity for at least 5 years, security protection that can alert
the IT personnel if there is a breach or attempted breach, and is able to meet FISMA compliance.
