4 ANSWERS 2025

ICA1501 ASSIGNMENT 4 ANSWERS
2025

, ICA1501 ASSESSMENT 04

QUESTION 1: Warm-ups, Focus and Creative Process (10 marks)

1.1 It is important for learners to do body and voice warm-ups before a performance
to prepare their instruments—their bodies and voices—for the physical and vocal
demands of the activity. Warm-ups increase blood flow, flexibility, and range of
motion in the body, reducing the risk of injury and improving physical performance.
Similarly, voice warm-ups prepare the vocal cords for sustained use and improve
vocal projection, articulation, and control. I would prepare my learners for warm-ups
by first explaining the importance of warming up, and then by leading them through a
series of structured exercises that gradually increase in intensity. I would make the
warm-ups fun and engaging by incorporating games and activities that focus on
different aspects of physical and vocal preparation, such as stretching, breathing
exercises, tongue twisters, and vocal scales.

1.2 One body warm-up I have learned in this module is the "Body Shake." This
involves shaking each part of the body in turn, starting with the hands and wrists,
then the arms, shoulders, neck, chest, waist, hips, legs, and feet, to release tension
and increase awareness of the body. One voice warm-up I have learned is "Lip
Trills." To do lip trills, the learners have to breathe in deeply and buzz their lips
together, like a motorboat, focusing on controlling their breath and keeping the sound
consistent.

QUESTION 2: Role, Character and Imagination (25 marks)

**2.1 A robot with feelings**
