Public applicators - ANSPersons who apply pesticides as part of their duties as employees of a

Noncommercial applicators - ANSPersons who apply restricted use pesticides on land or
property owned, rented, or leased by the applicator or the applicator's employer.

Private applicators - ANSPersons who apply any restricted use pesticides for the production of
an agricultural commodity on property owned or rented by themselves or their employers, or on
the property of other agricultural producers with whom they trade services.

Certified handlers - ANSPersons employed by a licensed commercial applicator,
noncommercial applicator, public applicator, or pesticide dealer who handle pesticides in other
than unopened containers for the purpose of preparing, mixing, or loading pesticides for
application by another person, repackaging bulk pesticides, or disposing of pesticide-related
wastes from these activities.

Certified applicator - ANSA person certified by the IDALS to use pesticides as a private, public,
or commercial applicator.
