Rechtsfilosofie heeft raakvlakken met:
• Ethiek (hoe moet ik leven; wat is het goede leven voor een mens?)
• Politieke filosofie (wat is een samenleving; wat is de juiste manier om
samen met anderen te leven?)

Maar ook met:
• De metafysica (wat is de zin van het zijn?)
Het raakvlak met de metafysica bestaat erin dat:
• het recht ook veelal is begrepen als een verlengstuk van het zijn – van
de natuur.
• recht en religie doorheen de geschiedenis dicht met elkaar verweven
zijn.
