In the contemporary digital age, computer-based testing has become standard practice
in career guidance (Coetzee et al., 2022). This shift requires career practitioners to
apply technology with care, ensuring that assessments remain valid, ethical, inclusive,
and aligned with their intended purposes. Bester and Stander (2021) propose five
practical guidelines for the responsible use of technology-based assessments. These
