The RI department of corrections has BLANK within its facilities that administer methadone,
Suboxone, and naltrexone under MAT protocol CODAC
The Support Act expands the ability to treat up to 100 patients in the first year of waiver with
these 2 conditions 1. physician holds board certification in addiction medicine or addiction
psychiatry by the American Board of Preventative Medicine or Board of Psych and Neurology
2. Practitioner provides MAT in a qualified practice setting
After one year at the 100 patient limit, physicians and other qualifying practitioners can apply
to increase their patient limit to BLANK 275
What is a qualifying practitioner? physician who is licensed, registered to prescribe CS, at
least 8 hours of specialized training
What is a qualifying other practitioner? NP, clinical nurse specialist, CRNA, midwife, PA:
licensed under state law to prescribe a CS, has completed 24 hours of training, NP or PA works
with qualifying physician
What is a notification of intent? allows no waiver for qualified practitioners and other
qualified practitioners: forgo training and counseling to treat 30 patients
Can you treat an OUD without a notification of intent? no
What must be on a prescription for an OTP? unique identification number
