A. I'm attending WGU to complete my college degree and achieve my academic and
career goals because it offers flexibility, a competency-based learning model, and a
supportive environment. The flexibility allows me to balance my studies with work
and family commitments, while the competency-based approach enables me to learn
at my own pace and focus on areas where I need more support. WGU's support
system, including mentors and subject matter experts, further enhances my learning
experience WGU's appeal lies in its flexible scheduling, competency-based learning,
and robust support system, all crucial for helping me obtain my college degree and
reach my academic and professional aspirations. The flexibility accommodates my
work and family life, while the competency-based model allows personalized
learning. Furthermore, WGU's mentors and subject matter experts provide invaluable
learning assistance.
B. The Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BS in Psychology) is an online, competency -
based program focused on developing both knowledge and skills in psychology. This
program aims to prepare graduates for diverse career paths, including entry-level
roles in human resources and sales, as well as for graduate-level studies. My lifelong
fascination with the human mind is why I chose this program.
C. I could ask my mentor for support when I have questions about my program, my
goals, or the path I want to take.
D. One valuable WGU tool for academic success, separate from mentors and instructors,
is the Degree Tracking Tool. It helps monitor progress towards degree completion,
providing a clear view of requirements and performance. This tool can also help
identify areas where adjustments might be needed to stay on track.
E. My plan is to study mostly during Monday-Friday, but break it up 2 hours a day as I am
working the majority of those days at a school and don’t want to burn myself out. I plan to
have it so that I won’t study on Saturdays, as I usually have something going on those days;
however, when I don’t, I will adjust my schedule as needed and use that day to study as
well. On Sunday, I plan to have a big study day, but I will break it up and allow myself to
have plenty of breaks. This schedule will allow me to stay on track to study for 15-20 hours
per week.
Note: You can either type out your plan to study or use the included blank study schedule.
