Activity Title: How Do You Feel Today?
Objective: Students will recognize and name how they are feeling today
using basic emotion words.
Materials Needed: Emotion chart or poster with simple faces (Happy, Sad,
Mad, Scared); small sticky notes or name tags with each child’s name
Instructions:
Morning Check-In (5 minutes): Show the class a big “How Do You Feel
Today?” chart with four faces: Happy, Sad, Mad, Scared.
Say: “Let’s check in with our feelings today!”
Name Move: Call each child up one at a time. The children place their name
sticky under the face that matches how they feel.
Say: “You picked ___! Can you show me your ___ face?”
Quick Talk: Ask a few kids: “What made you feel that way today?”
Reinforce: “It’s okay to feel all kinds of feelings. Talking about them helps.”
