:Porphyria

, WHAT IS PORPHYRIA?
Porphyria is a group of disorders characterized by the
accumulation of porphyrins in certain organs leading to pain,
damage and discomfort.
This happens due to deficiencies in vital enzyme in the heme
production pathway
Heme is a vital component of hemoglobin. Defects in heme
synthesis, lead to reduced haemoglobin synthesis, resulting in
anaemia.
