• Not all cases does Mendelian genetics come to play, since sometimes there is no
dominant or recessive traits
INCOMPLETE DOMINANCE (according to Joseph Gottlieb Kolreuter):
The traits from both alleles will blend and mix together
• Example: A white and red carnation crosses, they will form a pink carnation
CODOMINANCE: This is when an organism exhibits both alleles equally visible and strong
• Example: A black rooster and a white hen crossed, they will create a spotted chicken
MULTIPLE ALLELES: There are many different variations and versions of a single trait,
however, the gene can still only show 2 alleles. One of the greatest example is the ABO chart
• Example: This picture shows how there can be multiple variations for one blood type
SEX-LINKED TRAITS: bases their characteristics with the XX (girl) and XY (boy) chromosome
because this only shows in the X chromosome
• Example: woman is colorblind and marries a man who is not, the colorblindness will only
show in the X chromosome only <33
