1. Emotive language: Sentences or words that create emotional response.
Example: The poor boy needs shelter immediately.
2. Repetition: Sentence or word that is repeated / saying the same thing more than once to
highlight its importance.
Example: I saw a new girl wearing a new dress in the market.
3. Rule of Three: Three things are linked / connected to emphasise.
Example: People require safe, cozy and suitable places to stay.
4. Personal Pronoun: Use of I' 'We' and other words to connect with the reader personally.
Example: We can help you if you need.
5. Ellipses: When a word is omitted and is made up of three dots to create tension and
suspense.
Example: When it rained we...
6. Rhetorical Question: A question is asked without expecting an answer to catch interest
and suspense making a point strong.
Example: Stay calm? Is it possible? Is it really possible?
7. Contrast: Two objects / people / ideas are placed next to each other to highlight
difference.
Example: The work you did today is much better than yesterday.
8. Use of Statement, Command, Question: Keeps interest, creates a link and draws
attention.
a. Statement: A de nite / clear declaration / expression of something.
Example: Pizza is delicious.
b. Command: To give order.
Example: Stop talking!
c. Question: To ask something.
