not have accepted the awards
2) The student may not have submitted the correct FASFA
2. How can Grad students edit their financial aid- awarded Un-subsidized

3. What is a common error that can impact a student's ability to receive
financial aid?: 1) The student placed the wrong school code on the FAFSA 2)
The student and the parent flopped their information on the FAFSA or loan

4. A student can add additional charges into their Monthly Payment Plan

7. What do you do if someone did not receive a refund check?: 1) Check to
see how it was issued, and if sent in check form, mention it can take a week or
more to reach the students once the check was refunded 2) If it was sent in check
form, recommend setting up direct deposit in the future so the student seamlessly
receives the funds within 24-48 hours 3) Work with a student to submit a case for
further review if a refund check was issued a while ago (at least a week or more)
and the check did not make it to the student; in this case a new check could be
issued once the old one is been cancelled
8. How do I remove my SSN hold?: Complete the SSN form online and it will
be processed within 5 business days (often much quicker for this form)
9. How do alumni access their unofficial transcript if they no longer have
CaneLink access?: They cannot access their unofficial so they need to order
an official
10. At a minimum, what 2 signatures do we need on a Add/drop form or
course request form to process the request?: Advisor and Student
11. Can we add/drop students from classes simply by them making a
request to Canes Central: False

12. Can we recommend specific private loan lenders?: No, bc this is not in
line with the government stipulations, but we can refer students ELMselect (on
the UM website) for a list of prior vendors used
