Introduction
Emotional intelligence is very important when becoming a leader. It allows an individual
to maximize their internal strengths and understand their weaknesses. The Clifton Strengths
assessment provides insights on 4 key areas: Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building, and
Strategic Thinking. This paper discusses the results of my Clifton Strengths assessment while
also exploring my leadership characteristics by theme and incorporating real life examples of
those skills in the field. By analyzing my strengths and weaknesses through the Clifton lens, I
will develop SMART goals informed by transformational leadership theory to further enhance
my leadership capabilities.

Signature Themes Report
Research conducted by Gallup shows that success and natural strengths are
counterintuitive. While skills and knowledge are valuable, true insight comes from recognizing
your innate talents. The Clifton Strengths assessment reveals your top 5 Signature Themes that
are the core drivers of your achievements. When an individual focuses on these themes, you can
build strengths and achieve success through consistent performance. The Signature Themes
Report displays the top five themes pulled from the Clifton Strengths Assessment and ranks them
from dominant to least dominant theme. My top five themes are strategic, analytical,
responsibility, significance, and discipline.
The strategic theme states that individuals see the world in a unique way. Pattern
recognition and identifying possibilities within complex situations are their strong suits. By
constantly questioning and evaluating potential outcomes, they strategically choose the best
