Module title: Switched Networks
,Abstract
Building a working LAN network environment is essential for organizations’
businesses. Local Area Network (LAN) is where all the companies end devices
connect, so users on the end devices can carry out their daily work activities by using
local network resources and for Internet access. Nowadays, information technology
has become a crucial part of organizations’ business, therefore, having functional
network is indispensable for organizations’ success. The following contents discuss
planning, designing, and implementing an effective Local Area Network for
International Travel Agency.

, 1.0 Introduction
Computer networks are critical to business success, both with large and small
businesses. Networks connect people, support applications, services, and provide
accessing to the resources that keep the business running. Networks are becoming
more complex to meet the company daily requirement. As a company business
grows, the network also expands to deal with the increased number of network
devices connecting to the network.
All companies of all sizes have a need to connect network devices to support
different device connectivity, such as computers, laptops, IP phones, and printers;
enabling users to use company resources such as business applications, voice and
video calls, conference bridges, along with the internet access for communication
with other business partners and customers around the world. Companies now
require LAN campus that include both wired and wireless for connectivity extension
for users.
