De rechter ventrikel (RV) is een gekromde spierbuis, met een in en uitstroom. De contractie verplaatst
zich van in naar uitstroom als een peristaltische beweging.

- Uitstroom gedeelte contraheert 25msec later dan het instroom gedeelte
- RV is met name geschikt om een groot volume te verwerken
- RV is zeer compliant
- RV massa is 1/6 van LV massa
