A nuclear family is a family with a mom, dad, and their children. Just like with any other family,
nuclear families go through challenges, and may even go through experiences that may require
mental health services. In this presentation, we will review the family from The Incredibles and
review its challenges by looking at:
The Family,
The culture of the family
, The lifespan and developmental stages of each family member,
The parental challenges that accompany each stage
The communication style of the family,
The family’s cohesion and flexibility,
A common familial experience that may require mental health services, and
How implementing religion and spirituality would benefit this family
The family in this movie consists of five members:
Bob Parker. Bob is the father in this family and uses the Super name of Mr. Incredible.
Helen Parker. Helen is the mother of this family, and she uses Elastagirl as her Super name.
Bob and Helen have three children. In the order from oldest to youngest, their children are:
Violet, their adolescent daughter,
Dash, their school-aged son, and
Jack-Jack, their youngest infant son
