1. If I were to find an inspection sticker on a garment, I would assume that the product
is in the final stages of processing. Meaning that it is almost ready to be shipped
out!
2. If I was an inspector, the first thing I would look at is the fabric content. This is to
make sure it will meet the qualifications. I would then look at the color and fit of the
garment to ensure it meets standards. I would also check the weigt of the garment
to get the fabric density. Lastly, I would look at the compliances to make sure it
meets all the standards it needs to before the next step.
3. It is important for garment inspection to be rigorous at all stages to ensure the
garment is meeting every standard needed to. Without such a rigorous inspection
process, things could be missed very easily.
4. I've never really wondered this specifically, but I think this is due to the fact that I've
noticed defective garments on sale before.
5. Acceptable quality level (AQL) is a quality control tool that is used in inspection. It
gives the acceptable amount of defective goods that can be allowed per sample
size. I believe that this tool is a good measurement tool to use for quality control!
6. After watching the videos, I learned how crucial the inspection process really is.
There is a lot of detail that goes into each and every step, I cannot imagine the
chaos there would be if this wasn't so detail oriented.
7. After completing these chapters, what most surprised me was how much
technology and its advancements relate to the apparel industry!
8. For my takeaways from each chapter, from chapter one I learned about the
requirements the garments must meet before being brought into the United States!
From chapter 2 I learned about labeling and the reuired labels that must be on every
garment! In chapter 3, I learned about the inspection process and how each step is
crucial! Overall, I think my favorite chapter so far was chapter 2!
