Students: (Only a few raise their hands)
Teacher: What conclusion can we make by seeing how many of us like to watch scary
movies?
Students: That only a small group of us like to watch scary movies
Teacher: Excellent! But can you give me one word to describe this?
Students: Minority
Teacher: Well done, that is correct. Now can you use this word in a sentence?
Students: The number of students that like to watch scary movies are in the minority
in the class
Teacher: That is correct! Would you then say, by looking at the class, that men are in
a minority?
Students: Yes, men are in the minority in the class because there are less men than
women.
Teacher: Brilliant, that is correct.
Convoy
Teacher: Have a look at this picture on the board. Can you guess what is happening
in the picture?
Students: A lot of the same vehicles are travelling together
Teacher: That is correct. Can you give me one word to describe a group of vehicles
that travel together?
Students: (no answer)
Teacher: Listen carefully and write it down in your vocabulary book. It is called a
convoy when a group of vehicles or ships travel together. They travel
mainly in a convoy for protection.
Teacher: Has anyone seen a convoy before?
Students: Yes
Teacher: What kind of convey was it?
