Week 2 Assignment - Case Study: Power Plays at Work
BUS-310
Case Questions:
1.) In light of the research discussed in this case, in your opinion, how
should sexual harassment be punished?
I believe that sexual harassment should blatantly result in termination. Sexual
harassment is vile and deranged in my personal opinion. I can imagine that it is
difficult for someone to do their job when they feel disrespected and unsafe. It is
not something that should be taken lightly because it negatively impacts
productivity and workplace relationships. In some cases, I feel that persistent
sexual harassment should also be reported to the authorities.
2.) What laws relate most closely to sexual harassment?
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment
Act of 1967, (ADEA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, (ADA).
3.) What legal protection, if any, should exist to protect an innocent
individual from false charges of sexual harassment?
I believe that people should also be protected from false claims. Training can be
provided for employees and employers on the importance of handling harassment
allegations carefully and without bias. Strengthening defamation laws could also
defer people from making false accusations.
4.) How might sexual harassment relate to bullying?
