- downshifting - -roll off throttle as you squeeze in clutch lever. press down
firmly on shift lever (left foot), release after completion. ease clutch out
smoothly.

- starting on an incline - -use front brake to hold the bike in place as you
start the engine and shift into 1st gear. change to foot brake to hold the bike
while to operate throttle. open throttle for a little more power. release clutch
gradually. release foot brake when engine starts to slow down, this means
the clutch is starting to transmit power (friction zone!!!). continue to release
clutch as needed. open throttle as needed.

- when stopping always use... - -both brakes!

- front brake accounts for __% of your stopping power - -70

- how to stop normally - -squeeze the front brake and gradually press down
on the rear brake with your right foot.

- stopping in a curve - -1. apply smooth gradual pressure to brakes while
reducing lean angle.
2. add more pressure as the bike straightens up

- turning - -1. Slow- reduce throttle and press on brakes as needed
2. look- where you want to go, then turn only your head towards it
3. Press- press forward on hand grip in direction of turn. (higher speed =
greater lean)
4. Roll- roll out throttle to maintain or gradually increase speed through the
turn. helps keep the bike stable.
