Identify how you could improve your leadership communication across interprofessional
teams.
Hello class,
For interprofessional teams to be highly effective, there needs to be an ongoing
collaboration of the team members. Effective collaboration coupled with effective
communication within interprofessional teams increases office efficiencies and enhances the
patient experience. Well-coordinated collaboration among interprofessional team members
promotes comprehensive, cost-effective, and person-centered patient care that focuses on
disease prevention and health promotion. A synched team, in terms of communicating their
needs, is effective in executing assigned roles, especially improving care delivered to patients. A
high level of communication and collaboration fosters trust among members of the
interprofessional team which sets them up to deliver their services more effectively (Donnelly et
al., 2019).
To achieve such a high level of leadership communication, I will employ the SBAR
communication program. SBAR stands for Situation-Background-Assessment-
Recommendation. This program will help me strengthen interactions between team members
and individual patients. This tool would help me to accurately, efficiently, and consistently
