Introduction
Practice Problem
Mental illness is a severe health issue affecting people around the globe. In the journey
through nursing, I have learned that mental illness is often ignored and misunderstood as
compared to other National Practice Problems. Still, the nation is struggling with a mental health
disorder with significant adverse outcomes among its population. Rehm & Shield (2019) pointed
out that billions of people worldwide are dealing with anxiety, loneliness, debilitating despair,
and dread affecting their quality of life. Sadly, the number of young people diagnosed with a
mental disorders has gradually increased over the past years. According to Halldorsson et al.
(2021), accessing mental health among the teenagers is essential alongside promoting their
socio-emotional learning, psychological wellbeing, and socio-emotional learning. The aim of this
study was to investigate whether physical activity is associated with better mental wellbeing and
reduced symptoms of mental health disorders in adolescents. The practice problem question:
Does whether or not teenagers who engage in regular physical exercise have lower rates of
mental health condition symptoms?
Sources of Research Evidence
The identified sources in weeks 3, 4, and 5 included two quantitative and one qualitative
research. The database selected was Research Library, which has full-text availability on
ProQuest with access provided by Chamberlain University. The search terms used to retrieve the
articles include "adolescents" and "mental health." The first article was "The Relationship
between physical activity, mental wellbeing and Symptoms of mental health disorder in
