1. Cardiac arrest due to drowning interventions: Wipe off chest before defibrillation, restrict,
spinal motion, suction airway, gastric tube insertion, rewarm for severe hypothermia, which is
less than 30°C
2. Interventions for cardiac arrest due to anaphylaxis: Isotonic food boluses inepinephrine
3. Signs and symptoms of respiratory distress: To Kia, nasal flaring, retractions, pallor,
irritability, tripod breathing
4. Progresses to respiratory failure: Bay Dipa, to apnea, bradycardia, alteredLOC, head
bobbing, hypoxia despite oxygenation
5. Treatment for croup: Humidified, oxygen, nebulized, epinephrine, dexamethasone
6. Anaphylaxis treatment: I am epinephrine, repeated as needed, albuterol,
methylprednisolone, Benadryl, isotonic crystalloids
7. Treatment for bronchiolitis: Suctioning, oxygen if O2 sat is less than 94%,possible
albuterol
8. Treatment for asthma: Keep O2 sat greater than 94% with NRB, high phone, nasal
cannula, or NIPPV, albuterol, hypertropia, bromide, corticosteroids, magnesium sulfate IV
infusion
9. Lung tissue disease: Pneumonia, pulmonary edema, or ARDS signs and symptoms are
grunting, crackles, hypercarbia. Treatment is high, phone, nasal cannula, CPAP, mechanical
ventilation with peep.
10. Disordered control of breathing: Seizures, head injury, increased ICP, hydrocephalus,
neuromuscular disorders, drug overdose
11. Increased ICP treatment: Insure had his midline, administer osmotic, diuretics, or
hypertonic saline, treat agitation and pain, avoid hypotension
12. What is the DOPE pneumonic?: For sudden deterioration and intubated, patient
troubleshooting standing for displacement obstruction, pneumothorax equipment failure
13. What is compensated shock?: Signs of poor perfusion, but a normal systolic blood
pressure
14. Signs and symptoms of compensated shock: Tachycardia, cool, pale, diaphoretic, skin,
weak, peripheral pulses, neural pulse pressure (but not hypotension), oliguria, restlessness,
vomiting
15. Hypotensive shock (decompensated shock): We were absent, distal, pulses, altered LOC,
hypotension
16. Hypovolemic shock: Vomiting, diarrhea, hemorrhage, fluid loss
17. Distributive shock: Maldistribution of blood flow, relative hypovolemia
18. Septic shock: Flash capillary refill in early sepsis, petechial or purpurina rash, anxiety
