2. Grasp the auto-injector firmly in one fist, and pull off the safety cap with your other
hand
3. Hold the patient's leg firmly just above the knee to limit movement during the
injection. While you are holding the patient's leg, make sure your hands are a safe
distance away from the injection site
4. Hold the auto-injector at 90 degree angle from thigh
5. Quickly and firmly push tip straight into outer thigh until you hear/feel a click
6. Hold for 3 seconds
7. Remove and massage thigh for 10 seconds
8. Encourage patient to remain seated and lean forward
